The two adjacent suburbs of Mountainside and Gordon Heights in Gordon's Bay can be seen as part of the property crown jewels in the Helderberg area of Cape Town. These two upmarket suburbs are located against the slopes of the Hottentots-Holland Mountains - offering unsurpassed north-west facing sea views across False Bay towards the Cape Peninsula.

Lifestyle Offerings

Mountainside is situated next to the Kogelberg Nature Reserve and within a few hundred meters of the blue flag status Bikini Beach.  It is also at the start of probably one of the most scenic coastal drives in Africa.  Gordon Heights is located right next to Mountainside and still in close proximity to what is on offer. 

Location relative to Gordon's Bay and Helderberg Amenities

There are four shopping centres in close proximity to both suburbs offering a variety of shops including a Spar, Woolworths and Checkers.

The suburbs are conveniently located - close to the eateries on Gordons Bay Beach Road, the town's shopping centres, the main beach as well as Bikini Beach and the old harbour where sailing and angling from the harbour wall are the main attractions.

The nearest school to Mountainside suburb is Gordons Bay Primary School at 1.2 km away and the Strand High school (7.1 km). Mondeor Eco School is 8.2 km away and Reddam House Somerset (Private School) 10 km. 

Gordons Bay's amenities are in close proximity - with 3 petrol filling stations located within 5 km (BP Gordons Bay is 1.3 km away, BP Aqua Mall 3 km and Shell N2 Broadlands is 5 km away).

The average capital growth over 5 years was there for 79% for own title properties (or 15.8% per annum) and 94% for vacant land (or 18.8 per annum).

Gordon Heights consists of 497 Own Title (Freehold) properties and 112 Sectional Title units. Between January and December 2018 forty nine (49) properties were sold at the total value of R58 652m. During the same period forty four (44) properties were registered at the median prices of R800 000 for sectional title units, R1 750m for own title properties and R625 000 for vacant land. Five years ago in 2013 the median prices obtained was R562 000 for sectional title units, R1 225 for own title properties and R575 000 for vacant land. The average capital growth over 5 years was there for 42% for sectional title units (or 8.4% per annum), 43% for own title properties (or 8.4% per annum) and 9% for vacant land (or 1.8% per annum)
