Gordons Bay's main attraction is its beach area, with a variety of water sports such as surfing, power boating, kayak & paddle skiing, wind-surfing & board sailing being enjoyed at various points along the beach front. Bikini Beach is the only blue flag beach in the Helderberg. Gordons Bay has also twice hosted the Lipton Cup sailing race and numerous regattas are regularly held. Gordon's Bay also hosted South Africa's first Ironman Triathlon in 2000. Local building regulations do not allow for the development of any large apartment blocks close to the beach as in the Strand.

Gordons Bay is within 55 minutes of all the popular events and festivals hosted, and places of interest in the Cape Town Metropolitan, Stellenbosch & Paarl areas - including art, music, theatre, dining, museums, nature, sports- and recreational facilities such as golf, tennis and bowling clubs.  Hiking trails abound in the Hottentots-Holland mountain reserve area above Gordons Bay. Beautiful scenic drives along Boyes Drive (coastline towards Rooi-Els) will reward you during June to November with whale sightings. Bikini Beach is a clean and safe beach - attracting sun worshippers, with water temperatures of between 12 to 21 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

Gordons Bay has 2 harbours. Harbour Island is a waterfront development with a yacht mooring facilities, restaurants, pubs and a hotel. The old harbour hosts the yacht club and the SA Naval Academy.

Gordons Bay has a distinct Mediterranean feel to it - complete with its street cafes overlooking the beach. It is an ideal town for your weekend or retirement property. You will also have difficulty in finding a better place to watch a sunset!
