Sales picking-up in Val de Vie Polo & Wine Estate in Paarl-Franschoek Valley
Posted: 13th July 2011
Maureen de Waal, a CCH (Cape Coastal Homes / City Country Homes) affiliated and also resident agent has during the first 6 months of 2011 already sold 24 properties in Val de Vie. This is an increase of 131% on her sales for the same period during 2010. These sales came on the back of her total 2010 sales – when she managed to conclude 37% of all registered sales on the estate, confirming her dominance as the leading estate agent in Val de Vie. Of the 9 property transfers registered in the Deeds Office during the first 4 months of 2011, Maureen has been responsible for 5 – i.e. a 56% market share.
According to Maureen, she has seen a growing interest during the last few months in the lifestyle Val de Vie offered. The fact that people can still buy an erf on the only Polo & Wine Estate near Cape Town for between R640 000 (600 sq.m) and R990 000 (1000 sq.m), makes this one of the best investment opportunities available in the Western Cape at present.
Great attention to detail and an impressive design aesthetic incorporating the Cape Colonial architectural styles of the French Huguenots, ensure that Val De Vie property perfectly complements its Cape Winelands surroundings. The carefully considered position of every Val De Vie property provides residents with privacy while still offering a sense of community.
With expansive vineyards in and around the estate framed by Boland mountains, every real estate option offers spectacular views. Val De Vie is monitored by 24-hour integrated state-of-the-art security - giving residents and their guests the freedom to enjoy the facilities as well as wander, jog or go horse riding around the estate with peace of mind. Facilities include two luxury Hurlingham polo fields and stables with a Polo Pavillion which includes a restaurant and bar area as well as conference facilities. The sports and leisure centre located in the middle of the estate has a fully equipped gymnasium, tennis and squash courts, a heated indoor pool, and modern, sophisticated changing rooms. Val de Vie is currently producing 10 of the 14 traditional Rhône cultivars – making it an excellent choice for wine connoisseurs.
Val De Vie Polo Estate also benefits from its ideal positioning between two of the best golf courses in South Africa, Pearl Valley and Boschenmeer. It is located amongst a plethora of wine farms at which one can enjoy wine tastings or food at gourmet restaurants and is less than 10 minutes from a regional shopping centre and 15 minutes from some of the best schools (Paarl) and restaurants (Franschoek) in South Africa. This quality Cape Winelands location makes Val de Vie a lifestyle choice which will in the near future only be available to the most affluent. Plot and plan options on an erf of 600 sq.m are available from R3,15 million. The lowest priced house available at present is R 3,8 million and the bigger houses are already been marketed at between R5,3 million for a house of 420 sq.m to R12,5 million for a house of 745 sq.m.. Val de Vie has therefore become one of the most expensive suburbs or estates in the Western Cape.
Sales have been strong in Val de Vie since the beginning of the year, but the winter months showed a further improvement with Maureen selling 5 properties in May and 6 in June.
The new develop, The Vines, is also attracting more attention. The Vines consist of 20 plot and plan homes with prices starting at R1,995 million to R2,85 million for a 3 bedroom house of 211 sq.m.
