Die Wingerd is located on an area of 76 ha between the R44 in the west, Main Road in the south, Old Stellenbosch Road (in the north) and Helderberg Road to the east. The neighbouring suburbs are Helena Heights (above Old Stellenbosch Road), Somerset Ridge (below Main Road), Monte Sereno (also above Old Stellenbosch Road) and The Links (part of Briza).

The total extent of Die Wingerd is 81 ha. There are 600 properties in Die Wingerd suburb of which 489 are own title (82%) and 111 are sectional title (11%). The median land size is 1005 sq.m. and the median price obtained in 2010 for own title properties had been R1 600 000.
Between 2005 and 2009 103 own title properties (houses) and 39 sectional title properties (apartments) were sold - i.e. an annual average of 20 homes and 8 apartments. Contrary to some of the higher priced suburbs in Somerset West, there has been no drop in sales volumes during 2010 - as 19 homes (own title) were sold in 2010.
