Brackenfell Property History and background

Hard to believe that the colossal town that is Brackenfell today, started out as a major road crossing.  Property only started to bloom around 1913.  The town was named after a fern that was very common in the area, the Bracken-fern.

The Northern Suburbs showed exceptional growth during the past years and neighbouring towns are now connecting each other.  Kraaifontein at your North East, Kuils River touching the South Western border and Durbanville if you face North West.  All forming the unity that is Cape Town Northern Suburbs.

What Brackenfell is like right now

Since the late twentieth century, Brackenfell's potential was noticed and soon developed in what we see today .  Areas like Protea Heights and Vredekloof was intensively developed to maximise use of the land available.  Central Brackenfell was already an established residential area and the newer extensions found their place on the outskirts of town.   This accounted for the expansion of Brackenfell and today, it boasts over 30 suburbs.   As the suburbs grew, so did the surrounding amenities and supporting infrastructure.  It took careful planning and consideration to ensure smooth continuous operation of the basic town flow.  The town planners had a great deal of impact studies to take into account, but as it shows today, it was well worth the effort.

Brackenfell is a very youthful area, hosting all diversities of life.  Because the properties were relatively affordable, it enabled the younger families to enter the property market.  It was a safe and convenient location, ensuring abundant interest in the real estate offered there.
